Top 10 Camping Kitchens

Our roundup of the best cooking furniture for your tent

Outwell Richmond Camping Kitchen (£99)

This has got to the Ferrari of camping kitchens - it even comes with the kitchen sink! Stylish, large and lots of plenty of storage space sum up this kitchen. A nice addition is the cupboard which can house a storage bin or your gas tank if you are using a large double burner. The sink is underneath the countertop which can be covered to create more storage space.

Pros: hidden sink under worktop, plenty of storage, fold away design
Cons: Large kitchen not for 2 man tents!

Gelert Quick Erect Kitchen Cupboard (£69.99)

Although this looks like a traditional camp kitchen with a storage cupboard it has one very useful feature – it folds down flat quickly and easily. So this makes it much better than the old folding steel designs which sometimes feel you might lose a finger when putting down. As always you pay extra for such a facility.

Pros: folds down quickly and easily, compact pack down size, handy zip canvas cupboard for food, windshield included
Cons: Fairly heavy at 6kg, expensive compared to fiddly traditional versions

Kampa General Kitchen Unit (£69.99)

At the top of Kampa’s extensive range of kitchen units is the general and it’s a bit of a beast! Made from aluminium makes it lightweight and stylish with a great slatted top. The tubular construction is also relatively easy to erect although not as simple as folding one piece designs. Loads of storage underneath but its size only makes it suitable for large family tents.

Pros: stylish and lightweight, lots of storage, competitively priced
Cons: aluminium easy to stratch, shelves not metal so not suitable for very heavy items

Vancouver Kitchen Table (£74.99)

Another stylish aluminium kitchen from Outwell who know a thing or two about good looking gear. The nice thing about the Vancouver is that as well as a good area for a double stoveyou also get lots of worktop space for preparing food and storing your cookware. The covered area is good for storing food and its relatively lightweight at 6kg for such a large kitchen.

Pros: lots of worktop space, relatively lightweight, folds down for storage
Cons: only suitable for large tents, aluminium can scratch easily

Vango Garda Kitchen (£64.99)

This kitchen unit is a bit of a table hybrid with its fold in half design and then storage cupboards underneath. The advantage is at a pinch you could also use this to eat on although the cupboards may get in the way. It has two adjustable heights but may be a bit low for some to cook at.

Pros: Use as a table and kitchen, handy storage cupboards
Cons: heavy at 8.3kg

Gelert 2 Tier Aluminum Kitchen Stand (£59.99)

Simple to erect and lightweight are the key features of this minimalist design from Gelert. At 3.25kg this is the lightest kitchen in our roundup however at £60 it’s not the cheapest. Only really enough room for the burner and some cookware on the shelf below but it won’t swamp your tent.

Pros: super lightweight and simple design
Cons: no storage for food, no work surface for preparation

Coleman Compact Kitchen Table (£69.99)

You won’t believe how small this kitchen packs away to! Although it looks like a swiss army knife unit with utensils hanger, lantern stand, worktop and burner stand it all goes away into a small suitcase. It’s not the sturdiest of kitchens but for campers who want to keep it light this is a good option.

Pros: packs down small, lightweight design, lots of built in accessories
Cons: not very sturdy

Campingaz Camping Kitchen Extra (£74.99)

This kitchen also includes a double stove which is a nice feature for those who want a minimalist and easy setup in their tent. Has two side tables which can also be used as additional windshields.

Pros: Also includes quality double stove, storage cupboard underneath
Cons: no real worktop space

Easycamp Sirius Stand  (£69.99)

One of the simplest kitchens to erect thanks to its fold out design. Its made from steel making it fairly heavy at 7kg but this does make it a sturdy option. Nice amount of worktop space and handy storage cupboard for food.

Pros:
simple to erect, good worktop space
Cons: fairly heavy

Hi Gear Elite Workstation (£45)

Another simple kitchen that’s ideal for smaller tents. Although you could use it alone with a single stove it is also a good option as an additional storage space and worktop for bigger groups and families.

Pros: simple design, cheap price
Cons: not much worktop space, no windshield
